April in review

Another month has flown by and Adeline has hit 8 months! We just got back from a weekend trip down south to St. George to visit our friends Dave and Mandi. We had a great time and Adeline got to enjoy the warm weather and go swimming! Luckily she did great on the four hour car ride.

I thought I would write a little bit about what Adeline can do now, since I'm the one home with her all day every day! She is trying her best to crawl and can get onto all fours but then gets mad when she can't go forward. It is amazing how mobile she is thoughshe somehow scoots across the room and is now into grabbing everythingespecially things that even two weeks ago would have been out of her reach. Adeline is especially good at her "lift the flap" books and can lift every flap, as well as petting the fur on her farm animal books. She seems to say "mama mama" or "dada dada" all day long and has learned to scream happy screams at the top of her lungs, which is always fun when you're out in public. I love that she reaches up for me to pick her up now. Those are the best moments of being a mom. The worst moments come at nightAdeline has always been a bad sleeper. Luckily she still takes three to four short naps during the daythose help keep me sane. In all, I have been surprised at how much Adeline already seems to understand the world around her. It has been a great eight months and I am so excited for her next milestonescrawling, walking, and talking!

Adeline loves to 'read' her books.

One day Erin turned her back to do something and when she looked back Adeline had picked up one of her books and was just staring at the page with the little mirror.

We like this one because it shows Adeline sitting with her legs crossed at the ankles. She always sits that way for some reasonI guess we're raising a proper little lady.

She loves to go on walks...actually she loves to do anything that involves going outside, especially when it is sunny.

Standing by herself (with a little help from the couch) in her new dress.

Her other new dress at a wedding reception at Temple Square.

Her first swimming experience...

...and judging by her face we think she may have liked it a little bit.

Gotta look cool when you go out and about.

I remember the happy screaming stage... not so fun in Sunday school! Can't believe she's so big. Sorry we never met up with you while we were in town. Next time for sure!
