A wedding and a move

First of all, Happy Birthday and Happy Mother's Day (and Happy Anniversary tomorrow) to my beautiful bride! I think you're the bestest ever and I love you lots! 3 years ago tomorrow Erin and I got married then moved to Texas. This year Erin's sister, Sarah, got married and then we moved to Vancouver, WA. Well...I've moved so far. Erin flies out tomorrow and I'm excited to have her come. I guess as long as I stay in school this will always be a busy time of year.

I drove up to Washington yesterday and the drive was very nice once I got through the boring parts of Idaho and eastern Oregon. Our apartment seems nice. After church today I had nothing to do for the afternoon so I decided to jump back in the car for another hour and a half and finish the journey to the Pacific coast. There's just something about waterwaterfalls, the ocean, lakesthat just draw me in. I think I have a disease. After 7 hours of driving and walking along the beach I made it back to the apartment. Now I just need to get ready to start the internship tomorrow morning. Anyway...here are the photos from the last couple of days.

The 3 Porter grandkids in their 1st photo shoot. More on the 2nd photo shoot fiasco below.

Adeline loved the flowers at Bountiful temple.

There's that 'smile for the camara' face again.

This was Adeline's absolute favorite part of the wedding!

Ok...here is the 2nd photo shoot. Don't they look happy we're trying this again?

Jack quickly lost interest and found the flowers behind him. Adeline's attention must be on something more exciting going on.

After the flowers Jack goes for Jacob's binky and Jacob gets a good laugh out of that. Adeline is still more interested in something else.

Now Jack says he's had enough. While Jack had Jacob's binky Jacob found Adeline's dress to substitute and she's not sure how she feels about that.

Now Jack decides he'll stick around if he can play with Jacob's hair. Adeline decides she wants to go back to splashing her feet in the fountain.

Jack is content with Jacob's ear. Jacob is once again content with Adeline's dress. And Adeline again isn't quite sure about the situation. And that's about as long as we could get them to sit there.

Our nice little family photo. Of course if we wanted Adeline to smile we had to be by the water.

Here's that water disease I was talking about. First I found a good sized waterfall on the drive to Vancouver.

Then if 12 hours of driving in one day wasn't enough I got in the car the next day to go in search of more water. Don't worry...I found the Pacific. You can just call me Lewis or Clark.

Just wanted to show the three rocks from Goonies. I looked...I didn't find any pirate ships or treasure.

Spring updates and fun

This may be old news to some of you, but a few weeks ago I accepted an internship offer with Frito-Lay in Vancouver, WA. I'll be helping review the master production schedule and hopefully get to eat a few Doritos here and there. I leave this coming Saturday in our car and Erin will fly out with Adeline the next Monday. We're leaving most of our stuff in our apartment in Orem so luckily the move won't be too bad. We're very excited about our summer adventure to the Northwest.

I finished finals a couple weeks ago and we've been enjoying time together as a family. We've spent plenty of time at the park and are just trying to get the place cleaned before we leave.

Here are some pics from our recent adventures. Adeline has become quite the park fiend. She loves the doggies, kids, and slides.

This is her Easter pic.

Adeline discovered blackberries and loved them! Here is another example of the good faces we get when we ask her to smile for the camera.

We thought this was a cute little picture of her playing cards.

I decided to scrub the floors before we left and Adeline insisted she help. I gave her a little rag and she 'helped' by dipping it in the bubbles and shaking it then dipping it in the rinse water and shaking it. Her method didn't clean the floor too well, but it looked fun and she had a good time getting soaked.

She was quite proud of her fine work.

On a final note here is a funny conversation we just had with Adeline. She ran into the kitchen and started climbing into her seat.
Erin: "Do you want something to eat?"
Adeline: Full body head shake yes.
Erin: "What do you want to eat?"
Adeline: "Dirt!"
