Happy Birthday Devan!

Yesterday was Devan's 27th birthday! We had a really fun day and were able to have some friends over for birthday cake.

Adeline and Devan on the "fort" after church today. Devan is such a fun dad. I've been thinking about how lucky I am to have Devan for a husband these last 2 1/2 years now! I can honestly and literally say I have never heard him say anything negative about anyone or complain about anything even once. He is such an optimistic personwho wouldn't love to be around someone like that every day? Even with all he has to do right now, he always saves time for his family and never gets stressed out or overwhelmed at all.

Adeline in her new pajamas tonight. She actually seemed to enjoy wearing the hat.

Isn't this DKNY sweatsuit the cutest? She's been spending a lot more time playing independently lately. And talking a LOT! Her favorite words are home, more, moo, and amen. My favorite new skill of hers is when she poops her diaper, she brings me a diaper and wipes without being asked!

This shot is just so typical Adeline. She has always had such a strong personality and a great sense of humor!

Adeline ready for church last week, playing on one of her favorite placesour bed!

Wearing all of Daddy's belts. Feelin' pretty cool.

October Happenings

We have had a fun month. I really need to start posting more often so each post isn't a million pictures long! Devan has been keeping busy with schoolwork and internship interviews. He's really enjoying the MBA program so far. Adeline is busy running around and getting into everything, which seems to keep me busy! She has really grown up lately; she talks a lot and can say lots of words. I love that she can understand so much now. We can ask her to bring us something and she'll run into the next room and get it. Of course one of Adeline's favorite things is helping Devan and me do whatever we're doing. She definitely has quite the little personality. There's never a dull moment when Adeline is around! She keeps us laughing and rarely seems to stop laughing herself.

She was a giraffe for Halloween—luckily our friend Scott got a picture of her with the hood on since she hated wearing it! She even shared the grand prize with another little giraffe!

The family at the ward Trunk or Treat. I am a Flames Fan and Devan is an oil rig worker.

Adeline's favorite pastime lately has been making piles of everything: socks, hair bows, my jewelry, books, condiments from the fridge, the list goes on and on. . .

Adeline still loves bath time. She loves her paper dolls from Grandma Raynor. She just sticks them all over each other but it always seems to keep her busy for a while.

Just a bunch of cute pictures I couldn't NOT post!

Devan has built some forts for Adeline, but her favorite part is collapsing the fort and sitting on top. She will sit there and read her books for hours throughout the day.

This was yesterday. I took a nap while Adeline slept, and when she woke up, Devan put her on me and she just laid there. I love having such a cuddly little girl (that word usage was for you, Sarah!)!

Adeline's Favorite Things

We have gone through some major changes in the last couple of months. We moved to Orem and Devan started the MBA program full-time. My biggest news is that I've got Adeline almost completely weaned! It's been a lot of work and taken longer than I expected, but we're almost there. She is doing great at night (thanks to lots more hard work and determination!) and I have my sanity back!

I thought I'd update everyone on what we've been up to by showing you some of Adeline's current favorite activities:

Playing in the drinking fountains at church;

Playing basketball with her dad;

Cruising in the car cart at the grocery store;

Putting on glasses;

Doing everything we do, especially brushing her teeth before bed!

We are all settled here in Orem and Devan is in his fourth week of the MBA Program. It has kept him very busy but he really likes it so far. We live in the basement of this house:

We really like the place, especially the kitchen. It's pretty big and nice for a rental.

We have been extremely busy with Devan's school. There have been lots of meetings and activities. This is Devan and Adeline on a slide at one of the MBA socials.

In other news, Devan broke his collarbone AGAIN last week! Those of our friends from Texas may remember Devan as seen last year, below. He broke it last time playing company softball; this time it was intramural flag football. Luckily this break isn't quite as serious but it still isn't fun for him.

Lastly, I thought I'd include some shots of Adeline doing her "signature move." She has been doing this for quite a while now. She does this whenever she is looking for anyone or anything. She is so funny and makes chasing after her a full-time job!

June & July

I know, I know...this time I really let the time get away from me. Nothing really exciting has happened over the past couple of months. We're getting ready to move back to Provo next week and I'm getting very excited to start school...as crazy as that may sound. Adeline has been getting more teethshe's now got the two front top and bottom. She is really understanding a lot and she's starting to say a few things like "ball." She loves to wave hello and goodbye to everyone and anyone. We can't believe she'll be turning one year old in a couple weeks! Time flies when you're having fun! Here are some pics from the last little while.

We took Adeline to the park the other day and she loved it!
Her favorite thing isn't to go down the slide...it's to climb up!

A couple Saturday mornings while Erin was out at garage sales I went hiking with my little brother to some fun places near by. I love our mountains!

Gone Cruisin'

We had an eventful May and I'm sorry I'm a little slow at posting these pictures. For our 2 year anniversary we went on a cruise with Erin's mom and sister. It was just the little Baja Mexico cruise, but it was a lot of fun. We ate tons of delicious food, relaxed and played games, and the girls did plenty of high quality shopping in Mexico. We were a little worried about how Adeline would do, but she was great! She was a huge hit with all the people on the ship. In addition to our anniversary cruise we also celebrated Erin's 25th birthday a few weeks ago. Adeline has started to get her first tooth which has made for a few fussy nights, but that's to be expected. I'm just working away, trying to get ready to go back to school, and playing on an indoor soccer team (we're pretty bad...I think our 1-5 record puts us comfortably into last place, but hey, we've won one more game than I thought we would).

Anyways, here are some cruise pics.

Adeline with her Aunt Sarah getting ready for her first flight.

This was the first time she had ever rolled onto and slept on her stomach.

Formal night.

You'd think she's posing, but she's actually just getting into crawling position to get out of there.

Me conquering the rock wall.

Count 'em, that's 3 entrees. I did that every night just because I could.

The Monarch of the Seas docked in beautiful Ensenada Mexico.

Us on a short horse pulled buggy ride.

I couldn't take the shopping anymore so I rented a scooter and cruised around town.

I think Adeline was done shopping too, but she was a very good sport about it.

Erin's 25th Birthday Extravaganza that wasn't so extravaganzaish, but the grasshopper pie was delish.

Just a picture Erin really liked.
